Discussion: ... In summary, we have observed a significant increase in the total all-cause mortality in Cyprus, particularly during the third and fourth quarters of 2021 and the first quarter of 2022 in parallel to the vaccination campaign. Owing to this worrying observation, there is a need for a detailed and comprehensive investigation of the underlying causes of the observed excess mortality in order to address these dire consequences with appropriate public health measures and policies."
