Discussion
Meta-analysis of the eligible studies has suggested that zinc supplementation is associated with a lower mortality rate in COVID-19 patients. Included studies in this meta-analysis were observational studies and randomized controlled trials. In this meta-analysis based on I2 and Chi-square tests, there was evidence of minimal heterogeneity. The result of this meta-analysis can be considered important, because it is a simple way and cost benefit approach for reduction of mortality in COVID-19 patients."
