Dr. Briggs has an MS in Atmospheric Science and PhD in Statistics from Cornell University. From 2004-2016, he served as a Professor of Statistical Science at Cornell, and he is the author of Uncertainty: The Soul of Modeling, Probability, & Statistics. (source)
