What is the onboarding process for a new Research Associate?
Following submission of your application, you will complete the following steps:
- Step 1. Watch The Covid Index orientation video.
Note: A Covid Index Administrator will email the link to this video from an @covidindex.science account. If you do not receive this email promptly, be sure to check your Spam folder. - Step 2. Attend a training session via Zoom.
What is a training session?
A training session is a video conference hosted by a Covid Index Administrator. Following brief introductions, the Administrator will:
- Present the User Guide for Covid Index Research Associates,
- Demonstrate how to add an Index Entry,
- Answer your questions, and
- Provide any other assistance you may need.
What does a Research Associate do?
Once you’ve read the User Guide for Covid Index Research Associates and completed a training session, you can start submitting Index Entries to The Covid Index.
You can either:
- Add Index Entries for information sources of your own choosing, or
- Ask an Administrator for a collection of information sources from our sizeable backlog.
How does a Research Associate add an Index Entry?
- Log in to The Covid Index website (www.covidindex.science).
- Complete and submit the Index Entry Form by following the steps provided in the User Guide for Covid Index Research Associates.
- Once approved by our QA Reviewers, your Index Entry is published on the website (i.e., made publicly available).
When questions arise, you can count on support from other members of The Covid Index team.
